Talent Identification Process

Following your application online you will receive a personal candidate application number, to enable you to review your application, monitor your status and view new roles. A member of the Recruitment Team will be able to access your application and provide you with updates. Should your application be shortlisted, you will receive a message from the Jumeirah Recruitment Team who will advise you of the next stages, and invite you to interview or to an assessment centre depending on the role you have applied for.

Post selection

In the unfortunate event that you are not selected for the position you have applied for, you will receive a message from the management system. Please do not let this discourage you from applying again in the future to other roles which you feel suit your skills.

Can I send my CV to a friend within Jumeirah to help me get a job?

• Jumeirah Group has a strict policy where all applications must come through our careers website. All applications must come via our careers portal as this allows us to better manage the recruitment process and ensure fair and consistent delivery of service and feedback to all applicants. 

Does Jumeirah have an Employee Referral Program? 

• At this time we do not have an Employee Referral Program so all CV’s must be registered through our careers website.

Do I have to register my CV on the Jumeirah Careers Website?

• The simple answer is yes. If you do not register your CV on the website we cannot accept your application.

Does the Jumeirah Careers Website include new openings across the globe?

• Yes, every role within Jumeirah globally is advertised on our careers website.

Can I go back to my application and amend it?

• Yes, it is best to keep your CV and application up to date so we have all the correct information.

How long will it take until I hear back from you?

• As soon as you apply online you will receive an email notification, sometimes this can go to your Junk mail so you may want to check this folder

How long does the whole process take, from application to hiring?

• We are experiencing high volumes of applications at the moment and we are committed to checking all applications so you will have communication from us within 48 hours.

Once I am successful and have been given an offer, how long will it take until I can start with Jumeirah?

• When you are successful you will receive a Letter of intent to hire and our Employment Application Forms to complete.. Once you have returned this to us we will start the recruitment clearance and onboarding  process, which  can take up to 1 month.

Do I need to provide you with original qualification certificates?

• For certain roles yes, they will also have to be attested. We will provide futher details at a later stage.

Will you contact my current employer for a reference?

• We will need references from at least two previous employers who we will contact directly with your permission.

About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Reservations Agent role to join the Rooms Reservations Team at Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Family.

The main purpose of this position to maximize rooms revenue and profit through pro-active selling techniques and referral across resort.

Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role

• Have full and up to date knowledge of the hotel products and services.
• Ensure all telephone calls are handled politely and efficiently, ascertaining and accurately meeting the caller’s needs using a client orientated approach.
• Check arrival reports: 48 hours prior to arrival and 5 days prior to arrival.
• Handle all reservations through different channels (via email/ fax/telephone/ website) efficiently. Prepare Pro Forma invoices as requested by accounts.
• Actively participate in maximising revenue through up-selling.
• Follow up on non-guaranteed and waitlisted bookings.
• Handle no-shows and cancellations efficiently
• Maximize selling opportunities by adding customer value at every opportunity.
• Handle complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care and concern under the supervision of the Manager on Shift.
• Liaise with the Management and team in order to ensure the smooth operation of Revenue processes and functions within the individual unit covered.
• Prepare, update and file all correspondence relating to room sales.
• Be actively motivated in cluster sales projects, including FAM trips and client evenings/lunches.
• Assisting on guest visa inquiries
• Handling Group Reservations by communicating with the Events/Sales Department

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Previous Experience in form of cross trainings or internships in reservations, revenue or sales department
• Good knowledge of Opera PMS
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Handle shift responsibilities in the absences of the reservation’s coordinator, Assist newly joined colleagues on the job duties of a Room Reservations Sales Agent
• A minimum of 1 year work experience for a luxury hotel.
