Key Responsibilities: 
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare daily and monthly management reports, including analytical reviews and investigative support.
  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and transactional analysis.
  • Group Reporting: Assist with quarterly group financial reporting and related analytics.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • System Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations between front and back-office systems, working cross-functionally with business partners.
  • Project and Ad-Hoc Support: Contribute to ad-hoc project work and provide broader team support as required.
  • Audit and Control: Liaise with internal and external auditors; ensure timely delivery of required information and adherence to control frameworks.
  • Risk and Compliance: Maintain awareness and application of regulatory and risk compliance policies. Execute all controls diligently to minimise exposure and escalate any identified risks or control gaps to the line manager.
Qualification and Experience needed 
  • Education: University degree in a numerical or business-related discipline.
  • Professional Qualification: Fully qualified (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial instruments.
  • Sector Experience: Prior banking experience is desirable.

Forex & Money Market EM Sales BANK OF AFRICA UNITED KINGDOM Plc

Overview: 

The role involves a pro-active FX & Money Markets ("FX& MM") businessdevelopment, predominantly by targeting OECD based clients seeking to trade African currencies. The aim is to grow the franchise in the African currency space by increasing the client base,targeting NGO's, Corporates & banks with business links to Africa.Hence, superior communication and relationship building skills are essential.

This position also requires selling the bank liability product suite to attract medium to long term funding in G10 currencies.

This role further encompasses providingreal-time pricingto clients for FX & Money Marketsproducts and management of clients' orders. In-depth knowledge of the international capital markets is required, which must include exposure to a wide range of relevant products and a proven ability to effectively price FX & Money Markets margins. A high level of numeracy is essential, together with a good knowledge of the UK regulatory environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Business development & products' marketing
  • Funding & Cash Management & addressing day-to-day liquidity requirements
  • Hedging counterparties onboarding & CDD review
  • Pricing tools implementation (VBA, C++)
  • Model implementation 
  • Economic data analysis

  • Continuous market making of FX & Money Markets product suite
  • Production & development of pertinent MI including PL reporting
  • Production of the FX & Money markets daily trader note
  • FX & MM Flow Trading in African currencies & G10 Client order Management

  • Daily FX & MM Research/Sales note publishing PL & Trading volume reporting
  • Work closely with other desks within the Treasury & Capital Markets department (Fixed Income, Equity Sales, etc. ) and serve as a backup when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills & Abilities: 
  • Excellent presentation and marketing skills
  • Ideally good knowledge of the African business environment
  • Good knowledge in financial analysis
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint)
Qualifications & Experience: (Education background, level of experience)
  • Excellent academic background from top university or business school
  • Ideally FCA CF30 registered
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters is desirable
  • Fluency in both English and French would be a plus 
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in trading Emerging or Frontier currencies such as NGN, KES, EGP, ZAR, MUR, TRY, AED, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communications and mathematical skills
  • Ability to write code in VBA or C++ would be a plus
