New Student Orientation is your first step to successfully transition into AIU. All newly admitted undergraduate students are required to attend New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation is a 1-day experience designed to help incoming students become acclimated to university life.
During New Student Orientation, you will have the chance to meet with faculty and staff from your respective school, new classmates, and current students. In addition, New Student Orientation is a time for you to learn all about AIU's campus resources!
Mandatory Fall 2025 New Student Orientation Dates
Mandatory New Student Orientation will be in January for all newly admitted first-year and transfer students. This year, New Student Orientation will be held on September 2 - 3 & 7, 2025. You will receive an official email detailing your assigned orientation date and time once you have confirmed your attendance with the Office of the Registrar.
During New Student Orientation, you will experience the following:
- Being welcomed by students and staff to AIU and receiving your student ID.
- Meeting other AIU students and learning about the available resources at AIU during the Informational Resources Fair.
- Interacting with AIU faculty and staff to learn more about our academic expectations and the Student Code of Conduct.
- Exploring our Academic and Career resources (Tutoring Center, Writing Center, Academic Advising, Career Services, and Library resources).
- Learning how to get involved with campus life through the Office of Student Engagement and the Athletics Department.
- Learning about many more exciting opportunities and resources available to you at AIU

Degree Authentication Instructions
Upon hire, all candidates are required to begin the process of Kuwait residency. It is essential to get started right away with the degree authentication and criminal background check process required by the State of Kuwait. Below are detailed instructions for US, UK, and Canadian candidates.
AIU Housing Information
Kindly note that AIU Housing is provided upon availability and only if stipulated in your offer. All AIU Faculty Apartments are fully furnished, and single-occupancy. The following items are provided in the Apartments:
Bedroom
- Full-sized bed with mattress and fitted sheets, one pillow, and pillowcase
- Cabinet with plastic coat hangers
- Dressing table with mirror
- Bedside tables
- Comforter
- Sofa set (couch and armchair)
- Dining table set with chairs
- Coffee table
- 20'' inch color TV with Satellite Receiver and TV stand
Kitchen
- Fridge, and Electric stove
- Washing Machine and Dryer
- Dinner, Cookware, and Cutlery set
- Kettle, glasses, mugs, and kitchen knives
- Kitchen waste bin
- Broom, Dustpan with brush
- Iron with Ironing Board
Bathroom
- 1 Bath towel and 1 hand towel
- Bathroom waste bin
AIU housing is handed over to you on arrival clean and ready to move into. This same standard is expected at check-out. Particular areas are listed below:
- The kitchen and bathroom are thoroughly cleaned and odor-free.
- Floors swept and mopped thoroughly.
- All bedding and towels are laundered and folded neatly.
- All dishes and utensils must be cleaned and put away neatly in the cabinets.
- The washer and dryer must be cleaned on the exterior and interior.
- The stove and microwave are to be clean and odor-free from food residue and grease.
- The refrigerator is to be clean inside and out and be odor-free.
- All bins are to be emptied and refuge removed from the apartment.
- The shower curtain is to be replaced with a new one.
- An apartment cleaning fee (KD60) will be deducted from salary if your apartment does not meet the appropriate standard on check-out.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions oversees daily admissions operations and recruitment efforts. This role manages staff, supports strategic enrollment goals, and ensures a seamless and positive experience for prospective students from inquiry through enrollment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily admissions operations and manage the admissions team.
- Support student recruitment efforts locally and internationally.
- Oversee application review, document processing, and data integrity.
- Use CRM and admissions data to track progress and improve conversion.
- Collaborate with marketing to align outreach campaigns with enrollment goals.
- Assist in planning open houses, orientations, and recruitment events.
- Prepare admissions activity reports and enrollment updates for leadership.
- Serve as a point of contact for complex applicant cases.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of admissions or enrollment experience, including 2+ in a supervisory role.
- Experience with CRM systems and student information platforms.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Flexible to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
