Boise Cascade Company HR Specialist 

Boise Cascade Homedale Beams is hiring an HR Specialist! The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish. This is a developmental opportunity for someone who wants to start a career in HR and the incumbent will be immersed in the manufacturing environment daily.

Responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for the full employee life-cycle of hourly production associates including recruiting, onboarding, development, retention, recognition, and exit/offboarding. 
  • Planning and execution of employee events both on-site and off-site. 
  • Administrative functions include personnel file management, filing appropriate paperwork (worker's comp, training, discipline, etc.), acts as liaison between leave management vendor and associates, and ensuring HR Manager is informed. 
  • Provides information and coordinates activity related to HR policies/processes/regulations to employees and/or management including employee benefits, recruiting/employment, training, records retention, etc. Act as subject matter expert on hourly production benefits, disciplinary process, etc. in order to answer associate questions. 
  • Assists in identifying training needs, develops materials, and coordinates/leads training sessions, as required. 
  • Runs complex data queries and performs analysis regarding turnover, retention, discipline, and other functional areas. 
  • Responsible for the administration of HR-related programs such as service awards, special recognition, etc. 
  • May provide administrative support to one or more functional areas (e.g., correspondence, mail distribution, filing, answer phones, etc.)
  • Promotes Boise Cascade's Safety Culture through action and support. 
  • Additional duties as required. 
Hourly Rate: $23.00 to $32.00 per hour (DOE)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent work experience in related job function. Must respond actively, confidentially, and with sensitivity to the needs of all employees. Must demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, problem-solving skills; organizational awareness; strong organizational and prioritizing skills to operate in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills effective with all levels of the organization as well as external customers.

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) to five (5) years HR or related experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and UKG preferred. PHR/SHRM certification a plus. Fluent in both English and Spanish.
