Job Summary

Roles in this level have prime responsibility for carrying out the planning of daily maintenance activities with primary responsibility to ensure ‘right-first-time’ job performance so that equipment reliability is maximized, while improving maintenance ‘tool time’, ‘work quality’ by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour and non-labour resources including materials and services.

The role holder is expected to be able to remove uncertainty in order to execute planning in a systematic, efficient, and economical way with forecasted maintenance job planning approach. The role holder should be able to independently develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work to meet budgets and schedules.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop equipment preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Based on the daily new work request from production, planning engineer shall prepare detailed activity break up along with the estimation of required resources for the job i.e., internal, and external manpower, materials, and services.
  • Coordinate and review the work plan for assigned maintenance activities; review and evaluate planned work, methods, procedures and oversee spare parts inventory.
  • Participate in maintenance contracts including scope development, specifications, initiating procurement process, technical evaluation and providing support to superiors for management approval process.
  • Day to day coordination with contractors to supply manpower and/or services based on requirement during daily work order planning.
  • Verify and process the invoices submitted by the contractor.
  • Communicate and Co-ordinate with end-users to ensure spares and materials are made available for scheduled activities. Also provide feedback to MRP so that cost-effective replenishment levels are maintained.
  • Updating the item master including item specifications, Bill of Material, Spare Parts Criticality and new item codes in ERP as and when required.
  • Responsible for the Periodic Inventory review & Changes in the buffer stock levels with the coordination of end-users.
  • Co-ordinate with Supply Chain department and Contractors for procurement of spares to ensure availability.
  • Maintain contact with process licenses / equipment manufacturers to keep informed of technological developments in the area of responsibility to identify and recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness and/or cost reduction.
  • Maintain planning reference systems of work Packages, man-hour and material libraries for each piece of equipment, where applicable.
  • Fully documented quality system with clearly established performance targets, deadlines, outcomes, responsibilities, and authorities identified for every stage and everyone involved in the process.
  • Participate in the on-the-job training of trainees and newly hired personnel within the Section.
  • Provide superiors with work status reports to enable effective monitoring of overall progress against agreed plans. 
  • Provide the Maintenance key performance indicators data to superiors on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Analysis of the nature of repeated failures of equipment / parts and suggest remedial actions to the respective maintenance and production trades.
  • Participating in root cause analysis if nature of problem related to maintenance planning.
  • Estimate the annual planning of major maintenance jobs pertaining to individual area of responsibility and provide inputs to budgeting process.
  • Forecast the requirement of labour resources, materials and services and initiate necessary procurement actions to ensure that all resources are made available on time in order to achieve optimized maintenance cost.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or relevant discipline. Minimum of 8 - 10 years’ direct and relevant experience working within the Fertilizer, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Good knowledge of fundamentals for maintenance of Instrument equipment.
  • Good knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (ERP), issuance of work orders and reports, failure analysis, material ordering and monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of procedure for management changes; update drawings and documentation for changes to facility equipment or processes, understand management of the changes.
  • Good knowledge of different types of maintenance practices and maintenance policies and procedures; develop and manage maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Understand how to carry out root cause and failure analysis on engineering assets and mitigate further failures. 
  • Good knowledge of preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of the selection and obtain a spare part utilizing the correct procedures and methods.

Job Summary

The role holder will be supporting the Head of Electrical in managing engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of projects, ensuring alignment with the Company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.

The role holder focuses on providing technical guidance, problem-solving, decision-making, and analysis of the engineering department portfolio using innovative and analytical techniques. The main responsibilities are related to the Electrical within the Utilities areas.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee engineering and procurement of rotating equipment including compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, and gearboxes.
  • Review performance curves, vibration analysis, alignment procedures, and reliability data.
  • Coordinate FAT, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting with vendors and site teams.
  • Ensure spare parts and special tools are identified and delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist the Head of Engineering in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure alignment with Project objectives, EPCC Contract requirements, and Project procedures.
  • Track and report progress of engineering deliverables, highlighting deviations and supporting recovery actions.
  • Review, verify and comment on technical documentation submitted by EPCC Contractor, including datasheets, drawings, specifications, and vendor documents.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings with subcontractors to align on technical scope, quality expectations, and schedule.
  • Follow up on fabrication progress and support resolution of NCRs or fabrication defects reported by subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper installation of equipment and systems in accordance with engineering deliverables.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables against the commissioning-driven project schedule and report deviations.
  • Coordinate with EPCC Contractor and internal teams to ensure timely completion of engineering inputs required for commissioning.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces between internal departments (Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Procurement) and EPCC Contractor.
  • Support the Interface Team in technical review of spare parts, tie-in readiness, and resolution of interface-related issues.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA, and 3D model reviews, and ensure closure of action items.
  • Support identification and tracking of engineering-related risks and contribute to the Project Risk Register.
  • Maintain records of technical reviews, NCR resolutions, inspection outcomes, and interface coordination.
  • Support audit preparation and participate in lessons learned sessions.

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 Years of direct and relevant experience within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry, or EPC company.
  • Good exposure to process engineering software design and knowledge in all aspects of Process Engineering implementation and execution based on International Standards.
  • Having strong skills of Project Management, Leadership and team management.
  • Preferably having experience in Ammonia & Urea Major Projects.
